I have always loved making art and being creative. After graduating high school I attended Swain School of Design and New England School of Photography. I was happy, but unsure of my future. I kept hearing the echoing questions of my friends and co-workers saying "What will you DO? HOW will you pay your way?" Finally, I succumbed to the idea that I needed to get a REAL job.
I worked in the service industry for about 25 years. (Stealing time when I could, to create the occasional painting in cramped apartment spaces.) Although I was fairly successful at my jobs, I was never happy. Now, I have escaped these careers and returned to my first calling.
Paint is how I choose to express my creativity. I strive for 'photographic quality' realism in my scapes. I sometimes spend weeks trying to decide if a painting needs more trees, or a cloud needs to be darkened. Other times the decisions come quite quickly to me. Either way, each brush stroke is well thought out and precise. Much more rarely, I enjoy the contrast of the unplanned abstract (or as I like to call it 'decorative' piece). The easy, random gliding of the palette knife along the bare canvas is a freeing and fun divergence from realism. And yes, I have been known to make a childlike 'airplane noise' while painting in this way! Such is the creative process of Tricia Caron!
If you have a photo of a particularly favorite spot that you would like me to paint. Or if you enjoy my decorative abstracts but would like a different color scheme or size, contact me. I love decorating almost as much as I love art!
I hope you enjoy my work.
